Welcome to Karellia, home of the new massively multiplayer persistent space trading play by email game.
Karellia is a turn based space PBEM game. You can take control of a single ship and from humble beginnings construct your own interstellar Empire. Karellia is different from other games in that players' choices really do affect the game world. You can construct new colonies, and build empires that compete with or even surpass the places you start in.
Features:
- Karellia’s innovative turn order sequencer allows you to continually update the instructions to your captains or queue up orders for your units for weeks to come. Never again will your game suffer because you are away on holiday.
- Karellia players receive turnsheets that can be read in a normal web browser. They can even be customised.
- Karellia’s truly massive universe has over 20,000 star systems with even more to discover for the bold explorer. There are no restrictive jump points limiting travel, you can travel anywhere in the universe.
- Karellia’s trading system will allow players to make standard well known trading runs for a reliable buck, or to adventure into more dangerous regions of the galaxy in order to make your fortune. Real economics will mean every player can actually influence the markets they interact with.
- In Karellia you are not limited to controlling just one ship; you can build fleets of hundreds of ships on a massive scale of complexity and size. Customise them to perform the exact role you design. Perhaps you prefer to be an explorer, your customised scout ship will need a fast hyperdrive and excellent sensors, but don’t forget the weapons to protect it; the galaxy can be a dangerous place.
- Construct businesses, colonies, mining expeditions, even explore ancient ruins from a lost precursor race. Develop factories on crystal worlds, or harvest the rich gasses of giant planets. The galaxy is literally yours to explore and exploit.
- With all of these riches at your fingertips you will need to construct warships to protect your assets or even to steal someone else’s. Raid their colonies and build up your own defences. Spies and sabotage may achieve what fleets cannot.
- Karellia can be played solo, or you can build alliances with your friends and complete strangers from across the world. Pool your resources for mutual gain.
The universe is a big place and the opportunities are limitless.
Watch out for Karellia skirmish mode: Players can sign up for short term skirmish games with preset victory conditions decided at the start of the game, be they trading goals or simply destruction of all other players! But most importantly you as players can choose the game, make the universe how you want it and even restrict the players to your friend.
Karellia is currently in the alpha test stage. We will bring you updates as they develop. Karellia is a constantly evolving game. Players and alliances can be part of that development process by researching new technologies that will become permanent parts of the game.
